Acura TLX 2024 : Get Simplified Trim Structure and Price

The 2024 Acura TLX, part of the current generation introduced in 2021, is due for a mid-cycle refresh. While some may not immediately spot the cosmetic tweaks, Acura has prioritized enhancing packaging, adding more standard features, and creating a quieter interior for this model year.

To begin with, the refreshed TLX will come in three different versions: the front-wheel-drive Technology, the all-wheel-drive A-Spec, and the top-of-the-line Type S. The entry-level TLX is no longer available, and you can no longer opt for the automaker’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive with the Technology model. Regrettably, the Advance model is also being discontinued, along with its luxurious design and adaptive dampers.

Nevertheless, Acura is not getting rid of all the elements that contribute to the TLX being a luxurious sedan. The Tech package, now considered the “base model,” includes sought-after features such as leather seating, an ELS Studio premium sound system, and adjustable ambient lighting. Additionally, the sport-styled A-Spec variant offers all-wheel drive without any additional charges.

The AcuraWatch safety and driver-assistance suite in the TLX has been upgraded. The front camera now has a 90-degree field of view, and the radar system in the grille has a 120-degree field – a significant increase from the previous 50 degrees on the outgoing TLX. This wider angle enhances collision detection, allowing the system to better recognize pedestrians, bicycles, road markings, and signs. Additionally, the blind spot detection system now provides warnings for vehicles approaching from further behind the car.

Acura mentioned that customers requested a more peaceful driving experience, which is why the 2024 TLX A-Spec now features acoustic front door glass, thicker carpet, and extra insulation in various areas. The A-Spec model also includes active noise canceling as part of its ELS Studio 3D audio system, which helps minimize unwanted sounds. These enhancements have also been implemented in the higher-performance TLX Type S, providing a quieter cabin to complement its impressive power.

The 2024 TLX introduces a fresh, “frameless” grille design across all versions, allowing the Diamond Pentagon’s textures to seamlessly blend into the bodywork. While the changes may be subtle, they contribute to an overall sleeker appearance compared to the previous model. Both the Technology and A-Spec trims continue to sport 19-inch wheels, but with some updates. The Technology trim now boasts a new machined finish, while the A-Spec trim showcases a more aggressive split-spoke design in Shark Gray. Additionally, the A-Spec trim features a revised rear fascia with two Type S–inspired round tailpipes.

By the way, the Type S also gets the frameless grille, but this time with a unique inner texture that gives it a more fierce and detailed appearance. The 20-inch wheels are included as standard, and they have a sleek Berlina Black finish. Although the hand-painted PMC Edition is no longer available (at least for now), you can still opt for the accessory option which offers the stunning gold Y-spoke wheels.

The 2024 TLX is introducing two fresh colors: Liquid Carbon Metallic for the Technology model and Urban Gray Pearl for the A-Spec and Type S versions. The latter option may resemble the popular Nardo-esque shade seen in many cars today, but upon closer inspection, it showcases a luxurious, gold-tinged pearlcoat that exudes elegance and refinement.

Acura hasn’t disclosed the exact prices yet, but a spokesperson mentioned to Motor1.com that the base price will increase in line with the newly included Technology package. The 2023 TLX Technology FWD has a starting price of $45,245, which includes a $1,195 destination fee. On the other hand, the 2023 A-Spec SH-AWD is priced at $50,195, and the Type S at $56,945. Anticipate the 2024 model to see a slight increase in prices when it hits the market later this month, ensuring that Acura remains competitive in the realm of sporty luxury sedans such as the BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS.
