Bobi Wine revealed that security had been put to keep him in doors in order to let Museveni swear in.
Security operatives have surrounded the home of the National Unity Platform(NUP) president and former presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine as the country prepares to swear Museveni into power.
Telling the public, on his social media handles, Bobi Wine revealed that security had been put to keep him in doors in order to let Museveni swear in.
“My home is surrounded by the police and the military! Soldiers are back to the streets. This is how (Museveni) plans to swear himself in!” Kyagulanyi posted.
Talking to the press on Monday afternoon, UPDF Deputy Spokesperson Col Deo Akiiki confirmed security presence at Kyagulanyi’s home. He said that it is for his own safety.
“The deployment at Bobi Wine’s residence is for his own good. We accord security based on the weight of a person. He is a distinguished Ugandan. His security can’t be as anybody else’s, But he was also invited. I saw the invitation,”Col Akiiki said.
The presidential swearing-in is slated for 12th of this month following Museveni’s victory in the recently concluded presidential elections that took place last January.
